15 year old wins Fintel sponsored Super Six Championship

SAHIL Prasad created history by becoming the youngest ever champion of the Fintel sponsored North West Billiards and Snooker Association Super Six Championship which was held at the Tavua Club on Sunday.
The 15-year old Nadi Sangam College student defeated his father Yogen Prasad in the final 3-0.
Fiji Billiards and Snooker Association president Philip Gock said fathr and son created history by playing in the final.
"This was the first time for a father and son to play in the final," Gock said.
In the semi-finals Sahil defeated Pranil Singh 3-0 while Yogen beat defending champion Mahen Deo 3-0.
Gock said this was the first time for the six red game to be played in Tavua.
"The tournament was a very successful one because it attracted 32 players from all over the country and we thank FINTEL for sponsoring the tournament," he said.
"I heard comments that the games were very interesting and the frames finished very quickly."
Other top players that took part in the tournament were Deepak Jai Ram, Mahen Deo, Yogen Prasad, Riffat Bhatti, Suresh Chauhan and Nitesh Chand.
Also, a meeting was held during the tournament between the different district associations to discuss future plans for the sport.
"We have requests from Tavua for referees and coaching clinics which we will be conducting soon.
"For our next tournament we are planning to have a pool tournament in a club to attract pool players ù hopefully they will then start to play snooker," Gock added.
NWBSA president Suresh Chauhan said FINTEL had given $1000 towards the tournament.
