Interconnect Billing
Fiji's FINTEL chooses Intec's InterconnecT V7 and Inter-mediatE to manage global interconnect billing
London, 7 July 2005: - Intec, a global provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS), announced today that Fiji International Telecommunications Limited (FINTEL) is deploying Intec's Interconnect V7 and Inter-mediatE PREP solutions to manage its intercarrier billing with partners around the world, including relationships based on ITU billing rules. InterconnecT is the world's most powerful, flexible and reliable system for domestic, international and ITU-based billing and settlements, and also the most widely used interconnection billing system globally. Inter-mediatE PREP, part of Intec's Inter-mediatE mediation software family, collects and processes network data for use by InterconnecT.
"We are impressed by the fact that this powerful integrated solution can be so easily adaptable to our needs as an emerging operator, and that a credible vendor like Intec with its professional and supportive approach is so easy to work with," said Mr Ioane Koroivuki, Manager Network & Technology, FINTEL, Fiji Islands.
Fiji International Telecommunications Limited (FINTEL) is a private company, licensed by Government to provide Fiji's international telecommunications services. The Company, formed in December 1976, is jointly owned by the Government of Fiji (51%) and Cable and Wireless PLC of UK (49%). FINTEL is Fiji's only licensed international carrier and operates a submarine optic fibre cable terminal and a satellite earth station at Vatuwaqa, Suva. A combination of these two alternative, though complementary, facilities provides Fiji with both adequate capacity and reliability through diversity of routes. Access to a world-wide telecommunications network is provided through direct circuits and utilisation of several overseas centres as transit switching points.
"This win at FINTEL underlines the ability of InterconnecT and Inter-mediatE to deliver value to both large and small operators," said Intec CEO Kevin Adams. "The ease of use and rapid configurability we have built into the latest versions make them fast to deploy and very cost-effective to operate. Yet they also have the power and scalability to support the volumes of the world's largest operators."
