FINTEL has added Tuvalu to its list of Pacific Island direct connectivity via subsea cable systems.
The Vaka cable came online on 17th October 2025. Tuvalu’s direct connectivity with FINTEL for access to the world wide web, is via the Google (Bulikula) subsea cable system.
“The wait is over – the Vaka Cable is now ready. This connection to the global network is more than a technological milestone, it is an investment in our people, our economy, and our shared future. With faster, more dependable, and affordable connectivity, we are unlocking new opportunities for education, healthcare, innovation, and digital inclusion across Tuvalu,” said TTC’s CEO, Ms. Tenanoai Veronica Simona.
The immediate impact of this global connectivity is the 50% reduction of TTC’s mobile plans.
“The new offer reflects our commitment to affordability and lowering the cost of living for our people,” states the TTC CEO.
FINTEL welcomes Tuvalu onboard through the continuing relationship with Google.
